Midwest Financial Advisors is an independent financial firm that truly puts its clients first.
According to president and CEO, John C. Nori, “Upon our initial meeting, whether you’re an individual, a business, or a municipality, we stress that our process is all about you.”
Nori demonstrates his firm’s strong commitment to build every client’s security and financial future by listening to their personal and organizational goals. As president of the firm, it’s Nori’s objective to ensure that all of Midwest’s clients feel as though they’re an integral part of their own financial decisions.
At many firms, financial planning comes with a substantial fee. John Nori and his team believe that a financial plan is a tool — not a billable service.
“Developing a financial plan is the first step toward helping clients better understand their own financial picture, but it’s also necessary for us to show a potential client how we can add
considerable value to their current situation.”
The most unique aspect of Midwest Financial is its unified team approach. Midwest’s team philosophy was developed with the intent to separate themselves from the large retail brokerage firms. “I learned in my 14 years of working at large national firms that no individual advisor can service the many needs of today’s client. It truly takes a team of experts in many different areas to add value,” he says. Midwest
Financial treats every member of a corporation or family with equal attention. “In our most recently implemented 401(k) retirement
plan, our team not only put the best plan
in place for our client’s company, but also surpassed the typical enrollment experience by setting aside time to meet face-to-face with each employee. This gives the participants the ability to have all of their financial needs addressed, not just their employer’s plan.”
Another key element of Midwest Financial’s culture is unparalleled objectivity. Midwest Financial’s independent structure allows its advisors to make choices based on individual suitability, rather than proprietary pressure.
“Whether we’re showing a company the best providers for their company 401(k), or a fund lineup to an individual investor, we’re able to truly search amongst a myriad of options, and present the most appropriate fit accordingly.”
Midwest also offers a program specifically designed for small and medium businesses. Its customized “Black Ink” program evaluates a company’s key employee benefits and cost centers, such as retirement plans, health insurance, and payroll.
“By using our Black Ink process, we focus on the three most important areas for a business owner: fiduciary responsibility, fund choice, and cost,” Nori notes. “We’re often able to provide a much higher level of service to each employee, which leads to greater participation. This ultimately permits the owners to tax-defer more of their income. In addition, through better integration of these areas, our program seeks to reduce the recurring fees and processing costs in all three areas. Professional corporations find this particularly beneficial and attractive.”
John Nori graduated from Albion College in 1995 with a bachelor of arts in economics. He received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in 2002, and has earned the specialized designations as a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, and Certified Financial Manager.
Prior to founding Midwest Financial Advisors in August 2005, Nori was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter from 1996 to 1998, and held the same position with Merrill Lynch from 1998 to 2005. While at Merrill Lynch, he was in charge of the firm’s Macomb office.
Nori currently olds his Life and Variable contracts, Accident and Health Insurance, in addition to various professional securities licenses including Series 7, 9, 10, 31, 63, and 65.
